What is Rotherham Advocacy Partnerships

Rotherham Advocacy Partnerships (RAP) is a well-established and respected independent charity.

We provide advocacy for adults and young people (14 years and over) with learning disabilities in Rotherham Borough.


Advocacy is about helping people to get their views about what they want in their lives heard, and supporting them to get what they want.

When is Advocacy needed

When a person needs help to:

  • make important decisions and choices about their life

  • have a chance to be independent

  • be involved in their community

  • find the right services

An Advocate Can help to find information or help with

Advocates always have a person-centred approach to ensure people who have learning disabilities can have
choice and control over their lives.
We provide Crisis Advocacy and Citizen Advocacy.
